02 · Who I am

Portrait of Hamad Al Amari

I'm a Qatari who grew up outside it. That's the whole advantage.

Raised between Doha and Dublin, educated in the US and UK. I spent my early career in finance and biomedical sciences before I found the stage. Since the early 2010s, through Kalimat Ras and QTips, I've been the one who translates Qatari culture for a global audience.

I read the room in Arabic or English, mid sentence. Not after a script. The room adjusts to me.

09 · Giving back

The part that isn't work.

Qatar gave me the room long before anyone was paying me to stand in it. I support Qatar Red Crescent, and if something I hosted is the reason you are here, this is a better place for your attention than my inbox.

Donate with me.

Hamad Al Amari is a supporter of Qatar Red Crescent

11 · Straight answers

The questions people actually ask.

Can you handle a corporate room, or only a festival crowd?

Both, and they are not the same skill. The Fan Festival was forty thousand people who wanted to shout. FIBA's World Cup 2027 launch was a seated room of executives who wanted to be respected. I have done the Doha Forum too. Ask me which register you need and I will tell you honestly whether I am the right person.

You're a comedian. Is that a risk for our brand?

Comedy is a skill I bring, not a licence I use. I don't reach for shock when a line lands flat, and I don't make anyone in your room the punchline. I will criticise a bad process. I will not touch tragedy for a laugh. If your topics have hard edges, tell me before, not after.

Do you work in Arabic or English?

Both, in the same sentence, without stopping to translate. Arabic when the room needs warmth and respect. English when it needs pace. Most of my rooms need both within a minute of each other.

What happens when the run sheet falls apart?

That is the part you are actually hiring me for. Dinner runs late, a speaker doesn't land, a video won't play. Anyone can read an autocue when the night behaves. I have been on stage when it didn't.

How far ahead should we book?

Earlier than you think, especially around tournaments and the Doha Forum. If you leave it late you end up choosing from whoever is free, which is a different decision than choosing the right person.

What do you need from us?

Duration, my role, the topics, and the price, all agreed up front. No ambiguity going in. Then we talk about your audience, what you are actually celebrating, and anything you want left alone.

12 · Let's talk

Let's build something worth remembering.

Tell me the date, the room, and the language. I'll tell you straight whether I'm right for it.

Check a date

Takes under a minute. I reply myself, usually within one working day.
